The NCMC Men's and Women's Golf team traveled to Maryville, MO on March 28th-29th to compete in the Graceland Spring Invitational held at Mozingo Lake Golf Course. Friday offered 40-50 MPH wind gusts as the Pirates were on the course but played well in the conditions. The NCMC Men shot a team score of 330 to put themselves in T4th after the conclusion of Day One. NCMC during round one was led by a 79 from Alvaro Alegria and Guillermo Gomez posting an 81. On the Women's side on Friday Courtney Crose and Casey Phillips played well in the wind with Crose firing a 96 and Phillips posting a 104.
Day Two for the NCMC Men's team saw improvement with a team score of 321 to finish 6th out of 10 schools at the event and beating host Graceland University. The Pirates on Saturday were led by Alvaro Alegria and Jorge Gomez firing twin 75's including three birdies from Alegria. Guillermo Gomez and Grant Leamer posting scores of 84 and 87. Lucas Schussler rounded out the team scoring and was right behind Leamer with an 88.
On the women's side Courtney Crose improved her Friday by 2 shots to post a 94 finishing in 18th place in the 49-player field. Casey Phillips finished in 40th place at the conclusion of the event coming around the Mozingo Lake layout with a 111.
