The NCMC Men's and Women's Golf team traveled to Fulton, MO on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the William Woods Fall Invitational held at Tanglewood Golf Course.
The Pirate Men had a strong showing as the only Junior College in the tournament field finishing 14th out of 16 schools. NCMC fired a Day 1 team score of 310 on Monday and finished with a team score of 322 in the final round. Guillermo Gomez led the Pirates after firing rounds of 77-75 to reach his 36 hole total of 152. The 152 total placed Gomez T39th in the 80 player field. Jorge Gomez finished with a two day tally of 158. Alvaro Alegria was consistent after posting scores of 80-80 for a two day score of 160. Lucas Schussler came around the Tanglewood Golf Course layout with a 36 hole score of 163. Jackson Compton rounded out the NCMC scoring with an 84 on Monday and an 85 on Tuesday.
On the Women's side the Pirates continue to improve with Courtney Crose and Casey Phillips who competed as individuals for the event. Crose posted a 97 in Round 1 and then improved that mark by 6 strokes in the final round with a 91. Phillips shot a 99 on Monday and then improved her Day 1 scoring by 4 shots with a 95.
The NCMC Squads have a quick turnaround as the Pirate Men will be on the road next tomorrow as they travel to Lamoni, IA to compete in the Graceland Fall Invitational. The Women's team will then head to Lamoni, IA also this Saturday to compete in the Gracleand Women's Fall Invitational.
