The NCMC Men's golf team traveled to Lamoni, Iowa on Thursday competed in the Graceland Fall Invitational On Thursday. The Pirates placed 3rd as a team with a team score of 334. Graceland won the team portion of the event with a score of 301.
Kyle Steel and Mason Moncrief led the way for the Pirates with an 18-hole score of 82 and 83 respectively. Steel finished T-13th for the event while Moncrief finished T-17th.
"Mason had one his best rounds of the Fall which was fun to watch. He hit the driver well and got up and down from a lot of different spots on the golf course. Hopefully that gives him some confidence the rest of the way this Fall."
The Pirates were consistent as Austin Lasher and Brayden Schweizer followed up with an 84 and 85 respectively. Cam Bates rounded out the team score with a 92.
"Not our best outing as a team but we took away some positives today. On the course the guys need to come in with a different mindset and attitude before we can get to where we want to be at as a team. The guys will learn from this and will have a better mindset for William Jewell on the 27th and 28th."
