NCMC Men's Golf placed 2nd in the Graceland Invitational, a one-day eighteen-hole event, on Thursday. The tournament marked the beginning of fall competition for Head Coach Nate Gamet' team.
Individually, sophomore Trey Howell led the way placing in a tie for 9th. He shot a +10 score, 11 strokes behind the individual winner, Jordan Lester, from Graceland. Other Pirate scores are below.
T9 Trey Howell 82
T13 Bryson Yowell 84
T13 Jayson Orr 84
17 Haden Bradford 86
23 Jarrett Morris 100
Gamet had these comments about his team's first outing. "It was good for the guys to get out and get some tournament golf under their belt. Trey had a nice top 10 finish and the other guys showed some very good glimpses at times. We just had a couple of bad holes that caught up with us. Hopefully we can make some adjustments to help us put up some lower scores next time out."
Next action for NCMC will be the Virginia McCoy Invitational hosted by Park University. That event will be held at the National of Kansas City and the Deuce at the National on October 19-20.
