Congratulations to sophomore golfer Jasper van der Zon on signing with the Aquinas Saints men's golf team.  Below is the release from Aquinas on the signing.

The men's golf program and head coach Lauren Grogan have announced the addition of a talented golfer from the Netherlands, Jasper van der Zon. 

Jasper comes to Aquinas College after spending the past year-plus at North Central Missouri College. van der Zon hails from Sassenheim, Zuid-Holland, The Netherlands, where he played at Noordwijkse Golf Club. While at North Central Missouri, Jasper  earned All-region and All-district awards, and was an individual qualifier for Nationals. He helped the Pirates finish1st in both the Blue Devil Invite and Mineral Area Invite this fall. van der Zon has been golfing for over 15 years and also played soccer in the Netherlands.

"Jasper is going to be a great addition to the team," said coach Groga. "His golf swing is very technically sound and he is not even close to his full potential. Craig Sager, Jasper's current coach has helped put the pieces in place. We are both very excited to see the growth in Jasper's game when he gets to Aquinas for the next two years. This is the first athlete we are adding from the Netherlands and our guys are very excited to gain another perspective and outlook on golf and day to day life."

Jasper said he choose to come to Aquinas because of "the nice campus, good academics, Grand Rapids, facilities, coach and the opportunity to play." He will study Business or International Business at Aquinas College.
