40-Point Victory Pushes NCMC Into Region 16 Championship Game

In a commanding performance, 11th ranked North Central Missouri College men's basketball downed Metropolitan CC 111-71 to secure a berth to the Region 16 championship game on Saturday.  The win pushed the team's record to 25-5 and sets up a matchup with host St. Louis CC on Saturday.

 

A balanced attack was the key to victory.  The starting lineup set the tone for NCMC, with each player making valuable contributions. Joe Clark demonstrated early efficiency, connecting on all of his shot attempts, including a three-pointer, and contributing significantly on the boards with 8 rebounds.

 

Giovanni Mack had a standout game, leading the team in scoring with 23 points. Mack showcased versatility by sinking shots from beyond the arc and capitalizing on free-throw opportunities. His well-rounded performance included 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and impactful defensive plays.

 

Isaiah Reams exhibited scoring consistency, tallying 20 points while making significant contributions in rebounding and playmaking. Reams' ability to connect from long range added another dimension to North Central's offensive strategy.

 

Dampier Evans displayed efficiency in his shooting, going 2-of-3 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. His well-rounded stat line included 6 rebounds, contributing to the team's dominance on the boards.

 

Tyler King, with 21 points, played a key role in the team's offensive success. While facing defensive pressure, King remained composed and effective, particularly from the free-throw line, where he capitalized on 70% of his attempts.

 

The bench players also made significant contributions, with Mikey Thomas, Jakorie Terrill, and Jamaal Davis each providing scoring and defensive support. Khalil Screen and Roman Phillips added valuable points and rebounds, showcasing the team's depth.

 

The Pirate's exceptional shooting efficiency, with a 58.2% field goal percentage and 66.7% from the free-throw line, reflected their offensive dominance.
