Pirates Fall Just Short In Road Matchup At Indian Hills CC

The Pirates hit the road Thursday to take on the 16th ranked NJCAA DI squad of Indian Hills CC and came out on the short end of an 81-77 final score.  With the defeat, 12th ranked NCMC is now 21-5 following their most challenging opponent of the season.  Up next will be the Pirates final home game of the season, a contest with Central Methodist JV on Monday.  This will be the team's final tune up before they hit the road to try to complete their perfect Region 16 regular season in matchups with Jefferson College and St. Louis CC.

Isaiah Reams continued to be a standout player for North Central Missouri, leading the team with an impressive 30 points. Reams showcased his scoring versatility, connecting on 11 field goals, including two three-pointers. His accuracy at the free-throw line, going 6-6, underscored his efficiency and offensive prowess.

Tyler King contributed significantly with 29 points, leading the team in scoring alongside Reams. King's scoring was highlighted by his ability to connect from beyond the arc, making three three-pointers. His all-around performance, including contributions in rebounding and assists, demonstrated his importance to the team.

Jon Carroll provided valuable support off the bench, combining for 11 points. Carroll's efficient shooting (4-5) showcased the depth of NCMC's roster.

Defensively, Khalil Screen made his presence felt, grabbing seven rebounds and contributing to the team's overall effort on the boards. However, Indian Hills CC's strong interior prescence, particularly from Trevion LaBeaux with 16 rebounds, proved crucial in securing the victory.

While the Pirates fought hard to erase a 12-point halftime deficit, Indian Hills' balanced scoring, efficient three-point shooting, and success at the free-throw line ultimately secured their win. The game highlighted the competitive nature of both teams, and the Pirate's will look to build on the positive aspects of their performance against a Division I national power as they continue their season and make a postseason push.
