Pirates Jump On Top Early And Easily Defeat Jefferson College

The 16th ranked North Central Missouri College men's basketball squad emerged victorious against Jefferson College at home on Friday with a final score of 111-83. The game was characterized by NCMC's exceptional shooting efficiency and well-rounded team performance.  With the win, the Pirates are now 14-4 overall.

 

NCMC's star scorers shined brightly.  Tyler King showcased his scoring prowess, leading North Central Missouri with an impressive 25 points. King's ability to connect from beyond the arc, shooting 3-of-5 from three-point range, added a dynamic element to the team's offensive strategy. Additionally, Isaiah Reams contributed 18 points, displaying his versatility by sinking four three-pointers.

 

The duo of Joe Clark and Dampier Evans provided a solid foundation, combining for 16 points and contributing significantly on the boards. Evans, with a field goal percentage of 80%, proved to be an efficient scorer down low for the Pirates.

 

The bench played a crucial role in NCMC's success, with Jon Carroll leading the reserves in scoring with an impressive 17 points. Mikey Thomas and Jakorie Terrill added valuable points and assists, showcasing the team's depth and versatility.

 

The Pirates dominated the rebounding battle, with a total of 29, highlighting their ability to control the glass. The team's passing was another key factor, as they recorded 21 assists, indicating excellent ball movement and teamwork.

 

Jefferson College had notable performances, with Jaylen Boyd leading their scoring efforts with 20 points. However, NCMC's balanced and efficient offensive attack, combined with strong defensive play, ultimately secured their decisive victory over the Region 16 newcomer.
