19th Ranked Pirates Come Up Short On The Road Against Southwestern CC

In a hard-fought road battle against Southwestern Community College, NCMC men's basketball fell short with a final score of 74-67.  The Pirates, ranked 19th in the latest NJCAA DII poll, now hold a record of 7-4 ahead of a road matchup with Johnson County CC on December 2nd.  The Pirates will be looking to avenge a 77-59 loss to the Cavaliers in early November.

Tyler King led the scoring for NCMC with 22 points while shooting 40% from the field and sinking seven out of ten free throws. Isaiah Reams was another significant contributor, adding 18 points to the scoreboard and grabbing three rebounds. However, their combined efforts weren't enough to secure the win.

Giovanni Mack also made notable contributions, scoring 12 points, including a solid performance at the free-throw line where he shot 5 out of 6. Despite their efforts, the team struggled with their three-point shooting, converting only 28.6% of their attempts.

Southwestern CC showcased a well-rounded performance, with a balanced scoring effort from several players. AJ Doctor led their scoring with 16 points, while Bogdan Cret added 15 points, hitting key three-pointers to contribute to their victory.

The Pirates fought hard throughout the game, managing to keep the contest competitive. However, Southwestern's efficiency on offense, shooting 45.3% from the field and maintaining a strong presence on the boards, ultimately secured their win against a determined NCMC team.
