NCMC men's basketball took down the visiting Metropolitan CC Wolves on Saturday 100-90. The win kicked off NJCAA Region 16 play for the Pirates and improved their season record to 14-5. Next up will be a home date with Peru State College JV on Tuesday night. Tipoff will follow the women's game against Missouri Valley College JV.
Kam Bevel had a big night for the Pirates offensively, knocking in 7-16 from the field including four trifectas. He also poured in 8 of 10 from the free-throw line on the way to a 26 point scoring night.
Off the bench, Gerald Gittens stared with 23 points of his own. As a team, NCMC shot 48.5% from the field in the hotly contested matchup. The Wolves had five players reach double figures in scoring but it wasn't enough against the Pirates.
