Road Comeback At Johnson County Pushes Pirates To 11-4

NCMC men's basketball pulled off a second half comeback on the road Saturday to take down Johnson County CC 72-69.  The win closed out first semester action for the Pirates who hold an 11-4 record at the break.

Thirteen regular season games remain, which start back up January 7th when Labette CC makes their way to the Ketcham Community Center.  January is full of home action with the Pirates hosting seven games before hitting the road again.  Four key Region 16 matchups against St. Louis CC and Metropolitan CC highlight the game schedule for the second semester.

The Pirates trailed 33-25 at the half but dug deep to pull out the road win.  Sophomore guards Kam Bevel and Gerald Gittens led the scoring for NCMC with 17 points and 16 points respectively.  The Pirates defense held Johnson County to just 33% shooting in the game.  That defense was important because NCMC was outrebounded 48-28, which led to many second chance opportunities for the Cavaliers.
