Pirates Route Visiting Hannibal LaGrange JV

Pirates basketball rebounded in a big way Thursday night when they defeated Hannibal LaGrange University JV 117-49 in the Ketcham Community Center.  The win stopped a three game losing streak and gives the team some momentum heading into Saturday's matchup with Southwestern Community College.  The visiting Spartans currently hold a 1-5 record in the young season.  Tipoff is set for 2pm.

Against Hannibal LaGrange, scoring was led by freshman Nelson Reynolds.  He totaled 24 points on 8-11 shooting, all from behind the arc.  Those 8 made three's were 1 shy of the school record for a game which is currently held by former Pirate greats Cedric Ganaway and Jackson Andrews.

Knocking in an excellent 16 points off the Pirates bench was sophomore Kam Bevel.  He also added 7 steals, a game high.

Scoring 14 points apiece were Gerald Gittens and DeMarcus Sanford Jr.  As a team, NCMC shot a staggering 61.4% from the field, which overwhelmed the visiting Trojans.
