Domination On The Glass Leads Pirates To Victory

Pirates basketball took care of business in front of the home crowd on Saturday when they defeated region foe St. Louis Community College 69-64.  The win improved the team's record to 14-10 and moved their Region 16 mark to 2-1 with only a road matchup at St. Louis remaining.  That game will be held on Monday, February 21st with a 3pm tip.

Despite shooting just 29% from the field, NCMC mustered just enough offense to claim victory.  The Pirates were dominant on the glass, out rebounding St. Louis 44-29 including 17 offensive rebounds.  Leading the team's scoring were starter Isaiah Ervin and Kam Bevel off the bench, each totaling 13 points.

Sophomore Pirates were honored between the women's and men's games.  For the men's squad that included Mack Anderson, Isaiah Ervin, Kolten Griffin, Riak Mabour, Guy Moran and Darius Walsh.  Thanks to each player for your contributions to NCMC athletics.

NCMC's next action will be a road test at Indian Hills Community College on Wednesday.
