Pirates Even Region Record By Downing Metropolitan CC

NCMC men's basketball avenged a road loss in January to Metropolitan Community College by defeating the Wolves at home Saturday 81-63.  With the win, NCMC how holds a season record of 12-9 and are 1-1 in Region 16 play.

20 points by sophomore Kolten Griffin set the tone in the game for the Pirates.  Kam Bevel again came off the bench to provide a nice spark for NCMC, scoring 16 points on 7-12 shooting.  Rounding out the double figure scorers was Sterling DeSha with 11 points.

As a team, NCMC held Metro CC to just 32.9% shooting and forced 18 turnovers.  That defensive energy proved to be the difference in the game.

Looking forward, the Pirates next play host to Graceland University JV on Tuesday.  Then, NCMC hits the road for a matchup Thursday with Southwestern Community College, a team on a current 6-game winning streak that did lose to the Pirates 90-74 earlier this year in the Ketcham Center.
