A balanced attack from NCMC Pirates basketball keyed a home win Thursday over Peru State College JV 85-70. The win pushes the team's winning streak to 3 games ahead of Saturday's homecoming matchup with Ellsworth Community College. The Pirates dropped the road matchup with Ellsworth earlier this season.
The Pirates, 8-8 overall, to double digit scoring from Kolten Griffin (15pts), Gerald Gittens (13pts), Isaiah Ervin (12pts), Sterling DeSha (11pts) and Kam Bevel (11pts) on their way to victory. As a team, NCMC shot 43.9% from the field.
The offensive bright spot for Peru State was Ajantae Hogan who scored a game high 25 points. Hogan has logged time on the Peru State varsity squad this season, averaging 5.5 ppg.
