NCMC men's basketball jumped out to a big first half lead and coasted to victory over Southwestern Community College 90-74. At the half, NCMC led 52-27 to ensure the end of their 3-game losing streak. Next up for NCMC will be a matchup with the NJCAA DII's top ranked team Kirkwood Community College at the Indian Hills Classic on Friday in Ottumwa, IA. This will be the Pirates second matchup against a top ranked NJCAA DII team, having defeated DMACC 78-65 at home earlier this season.
Three Pirates scored double digits led by a 30-point night from freshman Isaiah Ervin. Sophomores Kolten Griffin (15 points) and Guy Moran (10 points) also had solid offensive nights.
