The 16th ranked NCMC men's basketball team took care of business on the road Saturday defeating Metropolitan Community College 106-95 to improve to 14-6 for the regular season. The win also capped an undefeated Region 16 season, with the Pirates going 4-0. NCMC will host the region championship game on Saturday, April 3rd at 3:30pm. They will face the winner of the St. Louis CC vs. Metropolitan CC semifinal matchup.
Leading the Pirates in scoring Saturday was Atavian Butler, whose 31 points were a game high. That effort pushed his season average to 19.1 points per game, making him a top 20 scorer in the nation. Butler also pulled down 12 rebounds in the contest, leading the Pirates and marking his fifth double-double this season.
Also scoring in double figures for the Pirates were Jeramy Shaw (14pts), Jackson Andrews (12 pts) and Darious Thomas (10 pts).
