Huge Road Win For Pirates Basketball

Despite a drop in the national rankings from #6 to #20, the Pirates played their best game of the season on Tuesday night when they hit the road and avenged an earlier overtime home defeat to John Wood Community College.  This time it was NCMC securing an 82-71 victory over the higher ranked Blazers, a team that is currently #9 in the latest NJCAA poll.

Balanced scoring was a key to success for the Pirates.  5 player netted double figures, led by sophomore Jackson Andrews with 20 points and 6 made three pointers.

Jarvis Jennings was the only Blazer to reach double digits with his game high 24 points.

"I'm really proud of our guys.  I hope they know that we can do that every night," commented a proud NCMC head coach Jeremy Esry in his postgame interview.  "We have to build off that win and can't be satisfied."  The Pirates will be tested again quickly when they go on the road on Tuesday, February 9th to take on perennial DI power Moberly Area Community College.
