Third-ranked North Central Missouri College men's basketball closed their regular season with a pair of wins over NJCAA Region XVI opponents. Thursday, NCMC dismissed Metropolitan CC at home by a score of 93-70. Saturday against St. Louis Community College an 88-66 road win finished the regular season. The Pirates won a school record 25 regular season games and were a perfect 4-0 in region play. The team will take their 25-3 record into the postseason.
Balanced offensive output proved victorious in both Pirates victories. Against Metropolitan, the Pirates shot 46% from the field and had four players in double figures. Though the percentage wasn't as good on the road against St. Louis, the outcome was the same. The entire starting lineup for NCMC scored between 8-16 points.
As the #1 region seed, the Pirates automatically move into the championship game of the region tournament where they will take on the winner of Metropolitan CC and St. Louis CC. That game will be played Saturday, Feb. 27th at 8:00pm on the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO.
