Pirates Basketball Knocks Off Top Ranked Johnson County CC

NCMC Pirates Basketball posted a signature win Tuesday night when they went on the road and defeated the top ranked team in the nation, Johnson County Community College.  The final score of the game was 91-79 in favor the 14th ranked Pirates.

 

"That's Pirates basketball," commented NCMC head coach Jeremy Esry.  The game was a solid performance by all players, making their minutes on the court count.  Five Pirates scored in double digits.  The Pirates committed only 8 turnovers in the game while forcing 10 with their stifling defense.  They also held Johnson County to 42.9% shooting compared to the Pirates 52.6%.

The Pirates last game before the winter break is a home matchup with Central Methodist University JV on Thursday.  The Pirates will carry their 12-1 mark into that game.
