Despite a slow start and a shaky finish, the 16th ranked NCMC men's basketball team defeated John Wood CC 85-83 to improve their record to 10-1.
32 bench points from Atavian Butler proved crucial in the Pirates victory. Other Pirates in double figures were starters Quinan Rieves (15 pts) and TJ Babikir (13 pts). As a team, the Pirates knocked in 28 of 34 free throw attempts as well.
Next for NCMC is a Saturday road trip to Creston, IA to take on Southwestern Community College to take on the Spartans.
