Men's Basketball Claims District XIII Title

The North Central Missouri College men's basketball team will be heading to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament after defeating Arkansas State University Mid-South 73-67 on Saturday.  In addition to claiming the school's first ever men's basketball Region XVI crown last weekend, the District XIII win is also a school first.  The Pirates earned the victory in front of a packed house at the Ketcham Community Center.

The win for the Pirates was marked by stellar defense and lots of energy.  Arkansas Mid-South shot just 31% from the field in the game, down from their 49% regular season mark.  NCMC allowed only First Team All-Region II guard Jalen Lynn to score in double figures with 25 points.

Offensively, the Pirates had four players in double digits led by Marty Jackson's 17 points off the bench.  Soloman Thomas totaled 14 points, Cameron Lockett added 12 points and Jordan Reece netted 10 points.
