Basketball Teams Split On Road Trip To Southeast CC

Pirates Basketball went on the road Saturday and earned an 88-79 win over Southeast Community College.  The win takes the team's overall record to 14-11 with two home games remaining before the Region 16 tournament.

 

Leading the scoring for the Pirates was sophomore Emil Spriggs and freshman Marty Jackson with 21 points.  As a team, the Pirates shot 65% from the field and knocked in 5-16 three point attempts.  They held Southeast to just 44% shooting in the game.

 

The Lady Pirates also made the trip to Southeast but took a 92-83 loss.  Also with two home regular season games remaining, NCMC's overall record is now 7-17.

 

The team trailed 44-23 at the half before making their comeback attempt in the second half.  However, the deficit was too much to overcome.  20 points from Hailey Burrows paced the Lady Pirates.  Karrisa Baber also chipped in 16 points in the losing effort.
