Two Solid Wins For Pirates Basketball

The Pirates scored a couple solid home wins over the weekend.  First, the Pirates took down Ottawa University JV 118-78 on Friday before defeating Central Methodist University JV 107-85 on Sunday.  With the wins, Coach Esry's squad will take a 5-3 record on the road Wednesday to 6th ranked Southwestern Community College.  The Spartans got the better of the Pirates earlier in the season with a 75-66 victory.

Soloman Thomas led the Pirates in scoring for both games.  He tossed in 21 points against Ottawa and 24 points against CMU.  On the season, he is averaging 17.5 points per game.

For the two games, points were easy to come by.  The Pirates had five players in double figures against Ottawa plus four against CMU.  As a team, the Pirates are now averaging nearly 86 points per game and have topped 100 on three separate occasions.
