Last Second Shot Propels Pirates To Victory

It was a thrilling come from behind victory for NCMC Men's Basketball Tuesday night at the Ketcham Center.  The Pirates overcame a three-point deficit at the half to defeat Ellsworth Community College 67-65 and move to 2-1 overall on the season.

"Our guys fought to the end and figured out a way to win the game.  There is still a lot of stuff that we need to work on but I'm proud of the guys for how they never gave up and kept a positive mindset," detailed Coach Esry.

Leading the Pirates in scoring was sophomore Jordan Reece with 17 points.  On the year, he is now averaging 18 points per game.

The Pirates' bench came up big in the win.  "We had some guys come off the bench and step up big time for us, specifically Jake Salisbury and Yacento Scott Jr.  Jake had a great first half where he was beating his man down the floor and getting buckets.  Yacento was solid all night and provided a huge spark for us and hit some timely shots, especially the 3 to tie the game and his floater at the end with 1.3 seconds left to win it," added Esry.

Here is some video of what turned out to be the game winning shot.
