Pirates No Match For #2 Ranked Indian Hills CC

NCMC Pirates Basketball went on the road Tuesday night to take Indian Hills Community College, who are currently ranked #2 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll.  The Warriors proved to be too much for the Pirates, winning 107-62.  With the loss, the Pirates are now 12-10 on the year.

"We really found out what high level junior college athletics is all about.  Indian Hills has a very talented team this year and right now Coach Plona has them running on all cylinders.  We just couldn't do much to stop them in the first half; it felt like they got any shot they wanted and if they missed it, they were there to rebound and finish it around the rim.  The second half was a little different as I thought we played a little better defense which led to some stops and us being able to convert on the offensive end.  Hopefully the game last night made us better and we can use the lessons in a positive manner to finish the season strong," remarked Coach Esry.

Jordan Reece paced the Pirates' scoring with 19 points.  Jalen Gant added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Pirates will look to end their current 2-game skid when they go on the road Saturday to take on region foe MCC-Penn Valley.  The contest will be the final regular season Region 16 game for the Pirates.
