Pirate's basketball took home their 17th win of the year Monday when they defeated Culver Stockton College JV 88-59. The win keeps alive a 7-game winning streak.
Jalen Gant led the scoring with 20 points and Major Finley added 16.
"This was a really well-rounded game for our guys. We lacked intensity in the beginning just like last week but focused in on the second half and did some good things. I thought our bench stepped up really well with their energy level and set the tone for the game," commented Coach Esry. His Pirates carried a 41-31 lead into halftime before pulling away in the second period.
The next action for the team is Thursday with a big matchup with St. Louis Community College at the Ketcham Center. The Pirates are looking to improve their 3-2 Region 16 record ahead of the region tournament next week.
