The Pirates put together a nice 110-88 victory on sophomore day over North Arkansas College. The win featured a balanced attack which helped improve the team's overall record to 16-8.
Sophomore Major Finley led the charge for the hot shooting Pirates with 26 points. Freshman Josh Goss also continued his fine play with 21 points. "We shot the ball really well which always helps. We knew North Ark was very well coached and they would come in playing hard and smart and I thought our guys did a great job of responding," remarked Coach Esry.
MJ Johnson played strong netting 11 points and pulling down 9 rebounds. Also with 11 points were Demetrious Houston Jr. and Dee Scruggs.
"It was a great way to send off our sophomores, especially with them having so much family in town for the game," commented Esry. Sophomores recognized were Major Finley, Demetrious Houston Jr., Lorenzo Chisholm, Brandon Burden, and Teyontae Jenkins.
Next up for the Pirates is a home tilt against Culver Stockton JV on Monday.
