Culver Stockton JV No Match For Pirates

The Pirates put together another strong showing in an 89-62 victory over Culver Stockton College JV.  The win moves the team to 15-8 on the season.

For the Pirates, it was another full team effort in the victory.  "This was a good game where everyone got involved early and often," remarked Coach Esry.  Jalen Gant led the scoring with 22 points.  Three other Pirates were in double figures.

"We didn't come out in the first half with much energy but did a great job second half of responding and making adjustments," noted Esry.  The Pirates held a 39-29 lead at the break but were able to space things out in the second half.

Freshman Josh Goss had his best night as a Pirate.  "I thought Josh Goss had his coming out party a little bit, going 6-9 from the 3 point line and doing a lot of good things defensively as well," stated and excited Esry about the performance.  Goss totaled 20 points on the night.

The Pirates are currently on a 5 game winning streak.  "Hopefully we can continue riding this wave as a really tough and well coached North Arkansas team comes in to play us Saturday."  In addition to having a tough foe on Saturday, this will be a must see day of action with sophomore players being recognized as will the NCMC Hall of Fame inductees.
