Pirates Fall On The Road To St. Louis CC 74-58

NCMC Pirate's basketball had another Region 16 setback on Saturday as they fell to St. Louis Community College 74-58.  The loss moves the team's region record to 1-2 with an overall 10-8 mark.

Sophomores Major Finley and Demetrious Houston Jr. were the only two players in double figures with 13 and 11 points respectively.  The team total of 58 points was the lowest total on the year for the normally high flying squad.

"It was a disappointing game for us in many ways as we felt we didn't go out there and compete like we know how. St. Louis is a good team that plays hard every possession and we just couldn't match them on Saturday," remarked Coach Esry.

The Pirates will try to end a 2 game losing skid on Monday at Missouri Valley College JV.  Wednesday, the team will again be on the road when they take on region opponent Wentworth Military Academy.  "We now have an uphill battle to turn around our region record," commented Esry but a win on Wednesday would go a long way toward doing just that.
