Gant's Big Night Leads Pirates Over Ottawa U JV

The NCMC Pirates went on the road Monday night and got a 100-74 win over Ottawa University JV.  The win pushed the team's overall record to 10-6 on the season.

"It was a poor shooting night for us and good shooting night for them.  However, our guys showed that they could handle the adversity and get some stops when our shots weren't going in," commented assistant coach Eric Penrod of the team's ability to hang tough in the first half when shots were not falling.  The Pirates led by only a point at the break but were able to space things out in the second half.  One Pirate who did shoot well on the evening was freshman Jalen Gant, who scored 32 points on 13-15 shooting.

"We need to come out and be more consistent from the beginning," remarked Penrod. The Pirates will look to get off to a hotter start in their next contest when they take on Southeast Community College Wednesday in Beatrice, NE.  The Pirates will look to avenge their 92-87 loss to the Storm from earlier in the season.
