Pirates Cruise Against Graceland JV

The NCMC Pirates got back on the winning track Tuesday night as they defeated Graceland University JV 97-71.  The team easily cruised to their 9th overall win led by sophomore Major Finley's 20 points.  Overall, the Pirates featured a well-balanced attack with six players scoring between 9 and 13 points.

While it was nice to see the Pirates shake off their defeat on Saturday, Coach Esry still sees room for improvement.  "This was not the most complete game we have put together all year but I thought we did a much better job of sharing the ball and creating for others than we did last game."

Improvement on the defensive end has been a focus all year for the Pirates.  Tuesday, some rewards of those efforts were realized.  "We showed some glimpses of putting together some good defensive stretches. We know that on Saturday we are going to have to put it all together when we face a really good Penn Valley team," remarked Esry looking forward to their next Region 16 foe.

Make sure to come out and support the Pirates as they take on MCC-Penn Valley on Saturday, January 28th.  The tipoff is set for 3:00pm at the Ketcham Community Center.
