Houston's 31 Points Lead The Way For The Pirates

Sophomore Demetrius Houston's big night helped lead the Pirates to a 108-92 victory over Missouri Valley College JV on Wednesday night.  Houston netted 31 points in the team's first time back on the court following the holiday break.  Points were not hard to come by as the team crossed the century mark for the first time on the season.

Also scoring in double digits for the Pirates were Major Finley with 14, Josh Goss with 11, and Jalen Gant with 10. "It was nice to get back on the floor after a long holiday break.  I know our guys enjoyed finally getting to compete against someone else other than themselves in practice.  We still have a lot of work to do defensively to get to where we want to be but I was really happy with our offensive pace and how we scored the ball at a high percentage," noted Coach Jeremy Esry.

The Pirates improved their record to 7-4 as they head into Region 16 play on Saturday at home against St. Louis Community College.
