2-0 Overwatch Defeat For Pirates Esports

North Central Missouri College Esports competed against Southern Methodist University in Overwatch on Sunday.  In the best of three matchup, the Pirates were defeated 2-0.

"We played the first map on Ilios; it was a close matchup but overall SMU had a more consistent plan throughout the match causing them to win," commented Team Captain Cole Rorebeck.

"We were close in many of the fights, but small mistakes allowed SMU to get a better hold on the objective.  Similarly, with the second map Dorado, we put up a good defense but were out classed on attack," commented Captain Aaron Babcock.

"It was the first Overwatch game of the season with two new players filling big roles/shoes of the fall Overwatch team who had graduated early in December.  We now know what we have to work on and we will get much better in time.  We adjusted last semester and we will do it again this semester," detailed Head Coach Chris Flowers.

NCMC Overwatch is currently back in full swing, practicing five days a week for the spring collegiate championship.  Practice times run from 2-5 pm.

Overall, this marks the first match in 6 weeks for NCMC's Overwatch team.  Match times are every Sunday at 7:00pm.
