A Pair Of Losses For Overwatch

On Sunday, North Central Missouri College faced Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Overwatch and lost 2-0.  The opening match was on Nepal while match two was played on Numbani.

In the first matchup against WPI, the Pirates lost the first control map on Nepal; the Pirates ultimately lost in overtime on Numbani. This was a shock to the Pirates as Numbani is their best-practiced map.

Sunday also saw NCMC play the University of California-Berkeley, again losing 2-0.  Similar to the action against WPI, NCMC lost both matchups, one on Nepal and one on Numbani.

"Both WPI and Cal teams have improved significantly since the last matchup," commented Coach Flowers.  "This game was not in the our favor since in the competitive map rotation these maps are not in the ranked rotation.  Our team has not had any time to practice on these maps in the last week."

Flowers isn't discouraged in defeat.  "These were tough schools to play.  We've gotten better since the last time we played them but so have they.  We just have to keep our heads up and keep moving forward.  We have three weeks left of our fall season we are going to finish strong," Flowers concluded.
