Pirate's baseball posted just one win in a 4-game set with Ellsworth CC on Sunday and Monday.  The games opened NCMC's home schedule with some beautiful weather at Burleigh Grimes Field.  The Pirates are now 9-7 ahead of a road game Tuesday at John Wood CC.

Highlighting NCMC's offense was freshman Julio Gurerrero.  He went 7-15 in the series including a home run and 5 runs scored.  Sophomore catcher Shodai Nishihara also was swinging a hot bat, going 6-12 with 4 runs scored.  Leading the Pirates in RBIs was cleanup man Jordi Ventura with 5.  As a team, NCMC hit .352 for the weekend.

Taking losses on the mound were starter Camden Lutz and relievers Alex Smith and Eric Torrero.  Getting the lone win was freshman reliever Dylan McIntyre who tossed 4.1 scoreless innings while allowing only 3 hits.  The pitching staff as a whole allowed 26 earned runs over 28 innings pitched, a mark they will look to improve upon.
