It was a banner day for Bailey Quint at the plate and on the mound as NCMC Baseball got a road sweep of Central Christian College of Kansas JV. Final scores of the games were 13-9 and 12-7. Next up for NCMC will be a road series on Saturday and Sunday with Moberly Area CC. The games will open NCMC's Region 16 play.
Quint hammered a pair of home runs for the Pirates in the opener to set the tone for the day. He finished the doubleheader with 4 hits, 2 runs scored and 8 RBIs. On the mound, he again set the tone in his game two start. He pitched 4 no hit, shutout innings and recorded 6 strikeouts.
The NCMC bats came to life in the doubleheader with 25 total hits. Hagen McGarrah went 4-5 to improve his team leading batting average to a robust .375. Landon Wells and Layne Rutherford each added 4 hits of their own.
On the mound, starter Kyle Stratman (2 IP, 2 K's) and reliever Jacob Rehkow (2 IP, 4 K's) set the tone in the opener. NCMC had a comfortable 8-0 lead upon their departures. Rehkow got the win and improved his season record to 1-1.
