NCMC's offense came alive on Wednesday when they traveled to Missouri Valley JV and swept a pair of games 19-8 and 14-7. NCMC is now 16-31 ahead of their final regular season series, a home 3-game set with Hesston College on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday will be sophomore day where the Pirates will recognize their 9 sophomore players before the game which begins at 1pm. Saturday will be a doubleheader with a first pitch also at 1pm.
Offensive fire power came in the form of 3 NCMC home runs and 32 total hits in the pair of games with Missouri Valley. Jesus Fonseca (7-9, 7 runs, 6 RBIs), Bailey Quint (6-9, 3 runs, 3 RBIs) and Noah Bodenhausen (3-8, 4 runs, 4 RBIs) each supplied the long ball for NCMC plus had excellent overall days at the plate.
On the mound, wins went to relievers Trenton Trieb (3.1 IP, 3 ER, 2 Ks) and Quint (3.2 IP, 0 ER, 6 Ks). Pirates pitching struck out 20 batters in total but did show some command issues, walking 14 and hitting 3 batters over 13 innings.
