Baseball Takes 13-3 Loss Ahead Of Big Weekend Series

NCMC baseball went on the road Tuesday and took a 13-3 defeat at the hands of State Fair Community College.  The loss moves the team's record to 11-21 before an important Region XVI home series with East Central College.  Those games are set for Friday (2pm doubleheader) and Saturday (noon doubleheader).  For fans unable to come out to Burleigh Grimes Field to take in the action live, Friday's games will be broadcast on Pirates Digital Media.

The biggest offensive bright spot for the Pirates against State Fair was freshman right fielder Edward Viloria.  He went 2-2 including a double, a run scored and an RBI.  For the season, he is now hitting a team best .375 over 64 at bats.

The losing pitcher of record for NCMC was Josue Noyola.  He allowed 8 earned runs over 2.2 innings pitched.  Command of the strike zone was a major issue for the Pirates in the loss, walking 7 State Fair batters plus allowing 8 hit batsmen.
