Pirates baseball dropped 3 of 4 games this weekend at Hesston College to move their season record to 11-20.  Next up will be a road matchup with State Fair CC on Tuesday.  That single 9-inning game has a first pitch at 1:00pm in Sedalia, MO.

Getting the Pirates lone win on the mound was freshman Nathan Fine, his second of the season.  He twirled 6 relief innings for the Pirates in the second game of the set, allowing just 1 earned run and striking out 7 Hesston batters.  Other top pitching performances for the weekend came from reliever Ramses Gutierrez (1 IP, 0 earned runs) and starter Tanner Schmidt (5 IP, 4 K's, 0 earned runs).  Taking losses for NCMC were relievers Evan Johnston and Kyle Stratman plus starter Layne Rutherford.

At the plate, sophomore Noel Medina went 6-11 with 1 run and 1 RBI to lead the Pirates.  Victor Olmos knocked a pair of home runs and had a team high 5 RBIs.  His homer total for the season now sits at 7.  Also homering for NCMC were Jesus Fonseca, Tanner Wright and Brett Fuser.  As a team, NCMC batted .266 in the four games.

Defensively, the Pirates committed 5 errors in the series leading to 8 unearned runs.
