Pirates Offense Struggles At NOC-Tonkawa

Pirates baseball took 4 road losses over the weekend against Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa.  Final scores for the games were 11-0, 15-2, 3-0 and 6-0.  NCMC's record is now 4-12 ahead of their annual spring trip to Myrtle Beach, SC where they will compete at the Ripken Experience.  The Pirates will play a total of 8 games over 5 days from March 14-18.

Against Tonkawa, the team's offense really sputtered amassing just 10 hits in the series and getting shut out in 3 of 4 games.  Additionally, the 11 total errors committed by the Pirates severely hampered their chances of victory.  The errors resulted in 16 unearned runs.

On the mound is where some bright spots came to light for NCMC.  Mason Tharp tossed 4 relief innings while allowing just a pair of runs.  He also struck out 8 batters.  Avery Rivero posted 2.1 innings pitched, allowing 1 earned run to improve his season ERA to 4.26.
