Pirates baseball hit the road Thursday for a pair of scrimmages with Benedictine College.  NCMC lost the opener 10-9 and tied the second game 5-5, a contest that was shortened due to darkness.  Next action for NCMC will be road games at Highland CC on Tuesday.

Leading the offensive charge for the Pirates was sophomore Noah Bodenhausen.  He went 3-6 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored.  The Pirates hammered out 20 hits over the 14 innings played which included 6 doubles.

On the mound, Dustin Gipson took the loss in game one allowing 4 runs in his one inning of work.  Two of those runs were unearned.  The Pirates pitching staff and catching core allowed 16 stolen bases to Benedictine, a team which played a hyper aggressive style.  The team did throw out 8 would be base stealers.  NCMC also committed 5 errors which led to 4 total unearned runs, something they will look to cleanup in future scrimmages.
