Pirates Baseball Defeats State Fair On The Road

Pirates Baseball pushed their current winning streak to 9 games Thursday when they went on the road and defeated State Fair Community College 11-8.  The win moves the team's record to 24-16 ahead of a 4-game road series with Dakota County Technical College.  The Pirates defeated the Blue Knights all four home tilts this past weekend.

Leading the offensive attack was sophomore Braedyn Brewer.  He went 2-3 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBIs.  His season batting average is now .385.  Tanner Sears also had a nice day going 2-3 with a pair of RBIs.  Sitting at 46 RBIs this season, Sears is just one away from tying the single season Pirates record currently held by Connor Quick's 47 RBIs in 2017.

Winning on the mound in relief was freshman Dustin Gipson (4-1).  He tossed 2.2 innings, allowing just a single run and striking out 2.  Jay Greco tied the single season saves record (4) when he recorded the final out of the game.  Greco is now in a tie for the single season wins and saves records at NCMC.
