Tough Road Losses For NCMC Baseball

Pirates baseball took a pair of road defeats on Tuesday when the traveled to Nebraska to play the Southeast Community College Storm.  Final scores were 17-3 and 19-8.  With the losses, NCMC's record now sits at 9-12 ahead of a 3-game road series with Lewis and Clark Community College. 

 

Pirates pitching and defense struggled to get the Storm out.  SCC hit a total of 10 home runs on the day and the Pirates committed 5 errors.  Additionally, the pitching staff allowed 15 walks and 4 hit batters in 9.2 innings pitched.

 

The lone bright spot of the day was a lead off solo homerun by Noah Bodenhausen to get the Pirates started in the opener.  This was the second homer of the year for Noah, who has solidified himself as the Pirates leadoff hitter by posting a .317 batting average so far this season while also leading the team in RBIs (14) and runs scored (18).
