Pirates baseball went on the road Saturday and swept a doubleheader with North Arkansas College. Final scores were 11-5 and 13-3. With the wins, NCMC has a record of 3-3 ahead of a tough matchup with the 3rd ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. In 2020, the Pirates were able to split that 4-game series with the then ranked #4 Mavericks.
Against North Arkansas, the Pirates offense was led by on base machine Jackson Boenker. In his 8 plate appearances, he recorded 2 hits, 4 walks, a hit by pitch and reached on one Aggie error. Also, having a nice weekend was outfielder Braedyn Brewer. He went 5-9 with a pair of doubles, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Freshman Noah Bodenhausen batted .500 for the weekend, including his first collegiate home run.
Four Pirates pitchers combined to allow just 3 earned runs over the two games. Getting the win in game one was Koby Linder who twirled 2 shutout frames while recording 3 strikeouts. Dylan Niemeyer earned the second win by pitching 4 innings, allowing 1 earned run.
