Braedyn Brewer Signs To Play DI Baseball

NCMC's starting centerfielder Braedyn Brewer made his commitment to Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville baseball official on Wednesday, November 18th, when he signed his national letter of intent to be a Cougar for the 2020-21 season.

Brewer has been a top contributor for the Pirates since his freshman season in the spring of 2019.  He hit .396 that year over 101 at-bats.   In the COVID shortened 2020 season, he again was hitting for a high average (.397) while showing a boost to his power numbers.  Speed, always a staple of Brewer's game, is highlighted by his 14 career stolen bases.

Brewer had these comments about his commitment.  "I'd like to thank God for blessing me with the ability to play this amazing sport. I would also like to thank my parents, especially my mom; she has been a huge supporter through everything. She's helped me financially and I wouldn't have been able to do it without her. I would also like to thank the coaches at NCMC for giving me the opportunity to play and helping me develop my skills to the next level. Lastly, I'd like to thank my teammates that have pushed me to become the player I am today. I am blessed and excited for this next step in my baseball career!"
