Dominating Victories For Pirates Baseball

NCMC Pirates Baseball had their way with Missouri Valley College in an exhibition doubleheader on Saturday, winning 16-1 and 11-0.  With the victories, the Pirates fall record now sits at 5-1.  Next up for NCMC will be a road matchup with Highland Community College, a team the Pirates split with last week.  First pitch on Thursday, October 8th is 1pm.

Leading a potent offensive charge for NCMC was sophomore Nathaniel Lai.  His 5-6 effort, with 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs was a welcome sight for the Pirates.  "Nate has all the talent in the world.  It was nice to see him have a breakout day," commented assistant coach Tyler Hudlow.

On the mound, Pirates pitchers were able to limit walks to the Vikings and success followed.  In 14 innings pitched, the Pirates allowed just five free passes and limited Missouri Valley to a single run.  Pitchers also racked up 19 strikeouts in victory.

Mark your calendars for the Pirates Baseball alumni game.  That fun event will be Saturday, October 17th and we look forward to seeing former Pirate greats on the field again.
