Home Doubleheader Dropped By Pirates

Home Doubleheader Dropped By Pirates

Pirates Baseball dropped both home games of the four game series with Metropolitan Community College on Saturday.  Game one went to the Wolves 16-8.  17-4 was the final score of game two.  With the losses, NCMC now has an overall record of 10-28 and 2-20 in Region 16 play.  Next action will be a home doubleheader Tuesday against Jefferson College.

Taking the losses on the mound for NCMC were Chase Killday and Clayton Bailey.  Pirates pitching surrendered 15 walks, 3 hit by pitch, and 7 home runs in the two games.  "Metropolitan hit the ball well against us.  Our biggest issue, however, was all the free bases we gave them to set the table.  We'd much rather give up solo home runs instead of 3-run shot," commented Coach Suttenfield.

Offensively, leadoff hitter Braedyn Brewer led the Pirates.  He went 4-7 with a double and 4 RBIs.  Launching the only home run for the Pirates was Kendrick Delima.  His season total now sits at 9 homeruns, one shy of tying the single season school record.
