Big Home Win For Pirates Baseball

Pirates Baseball got a resounding win on Tuesday at home against Highland Community College 11-1.  The Pirates pushed their record to 10-24 ahead of an important Region 16 series with Metropolitan Community College.  NCMC travels to MCC on Thursday for a doubleheader with the Pirates playing host on Saturday at Burleigh Grimes.

Earning the win on the mound for the Pirates over Highland was freshman pitcher Cash Miller.  He tossed six innings allowing only two hits, one of which was a home run.  He totaled four strikeouts.  "Cash has been one of our hardest workers all year.  It was nice to see him get a solid outcome yesterday because he's been making steady gains due to his work ethic," commented Coach Suttenfield.

Runs were aplenty for the Pirates.  Peyton Seiz and Tyler Montgomery each knocked home runs in the contest.  Braedyn Brewer and SJ Hunter each added three hits.  Logan Eickhoff, CL Stacker and Hunter each scored two runs.  "We were able to get offensive production up and down our lineup.  We've been swinging the bats more consistantly as of late.  Those good offensive approaches will be needed as we get back into region play," added Coach Hudlow.
