Pirates Baseball Goes 4-2 On Spring Trip

Pirates Baseball went 4-2 on their spring trip to Myrtle Beach, SC.  The team's record now sits at 7-16.

 

Highlighting the trip was a split with #17th ranked Mercer County Community College.  In game one, the Pirates took a tight 2-0 victory.  Brandon Whitehead threw the complete game shutout allowing just 5 hits and striking out 6 batters.  Leading the offensive charge was Kendrick Delima going 2-3 with a run scored.  The Pirates dropped game two of the double header 8-2.

 

In the other games, the Pirates beat Rockland Community College twice, Sullivan County Community College once, and lost to Ocean County College.

 

Top offensive performers on the trip were Nathaniel Bentura (6-14, 6 RBI), Delima (7-19, 2 HR, 5 RBI), and Logan Eickhoff (9-22, 5 runs, 5 RBI).  Whitehead, Brandin Hallier, Clayton Bailey, and Angel Reyes all earned wins on the mound.

 

Next action for NCMC is a four game set with State Fair Community College as they get back into Region 16 play.
